Macramé Art

Macramé Art

By Mim Schut, Stockholm Vineyard

In the beginning of this year I felt like God said Mim, this year you’re gonna create, create, create. Your hands are blessed to create, bake, make, heal, draw, write, take care and knot. Yes knot. Macramé is basically a bunch of knots and I discovered it in the beginning of this year. I picked a piece of driftwood, some cotton cord and with the help of some YouTube tutorials I started knotting. The results you can see in my presentation. Mother’s Day is inspired by the joy my mum radiates. Baby Mwanza is inpiried by the sweet anticipation of becoming an auntie. Chonk is inspired by all the warm and welcoming homes I’ve been invited to since I moved to Sweden. Childhood is inspired by German summer days spent outside with my best friend. Trinity is inspired by the loving relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Promise is inspired by God’s promise in Genesis 9:12-15. And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Gen 9:12-15 NIV
